What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT was developed by OpenAI, an AI research and deployment company founded in 2015 by Elon Musk, Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, Wojciech Zaremba, and Sam Altman [1]. OpenAI’s main focus is on creating tools and technologies that can be used for AI research, development, and deployment.
In recent news, OpenAI has announced a partnership with Microsoft which has included an investment of up to $10 billion in the company [2]. This partnership is likely to provide OpenAI with the resources to further develop and expand its AI technology, including ChatGPT.
OpenAI founder Sam Altman is credited with leading the development of ChatGPT and many of the other technologies developed by OpenAI [3]. Altman is a prominent figure in the tech industry and was the former president of Y Combinator, one of the most successful startup accelerators in the world. Altman has also been involved in the development of other AI-related projects, such as InstructGPT and GPTZero.
How ChatGPT Works?
ChatGPT is an open-source, natural language generation (NLG) tool created by OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text from a given prompt. It uses a combination of deep learning and natural language processing to generate text that appears to be written by a human.
The tool uses a transformer model architecture and is based on the GPT-2 architecture. It is composed of a stack of transformer layers, with each layer processing a sequence of tokens and outputting a sequence of activations. This data is then passed through a Softmax layer to decide the next token to be returned.
In addition to the transformer layers, ChatGPT also uses an encoder-decoder layer to process token-level inputs. This encoder-decoder layer is trained on a large corpus of text and is responsible for understanding the context of a given prompt.
ChatGPT is trained to generate text that is similar to the input prompt. However, it also can generate text based on what it has learned from the training data. This means that you can use ChatGPT to generate novel ideas and stories that may not have been seen before.
ChatGPT is also capable of answering questions and engaging in conversations. It can generate text based on a user’s input, as well as providing coherent and logical responses to questions.
